Acceptable use policy
Applies to every server, website, mailbox and service we host or manage. Last updated 2026-10-20.
Not allowed
- content or activity that is illegal where the service runs or where you operate;
- child sexual abuse material, under any circumstances (reported to the authorities);
- malware, phishing, fraud, or impersonation of other people or organisations;
- unsolicited bulk email, purchased mailing lists, or sending mail without proper consent;
- attacking, scanning or probing systems you are not authorised to test, including denial-of-service traffic;
- open mail relays, open proxies or anonymising services run without agreement;
- infringing copyright, trademarks or other rights of third parties;
- cryptocurrency mining or other sustained heavy workloads unless agreed in writing;
- using resources in a way that degrades services of other clients on shared infrastructure.
Your responsibilities
- keep credentials secret and tell us immediately if you suspect they were compromised;
- keep software you deploy yourself (for example a CMS and its plugins) up to date, unless we maintain it for you;
- make sure you have the right to host the content and process the personal data on your systems.
What we do about abuse
Usually we contact you first and ask for the problem to be fixed. If an activity causes serious harm, threatens other systems, or is clearly illegal, we may suspend the affected service immediately and inform you afterwards. Repeated or severe violations end the agreement. Where the law requires it, we cooperate with the authorities.
Reporting abuse
To report spam, attacks or illegal content coming from a system we manage, write to abuse@h4me.net with the relevant details (addresses, time, headers or logs). Reports are reviewed by a person.
